The publication
Sourcing and corrections
Independence
The publication is unconnected to any vacuum maker or app publisher. It takes no money, products or early access from them, and no maker sees a record before it is published.
Order of sources
Manufacturers’ setup articles, manuals and store listings come first. Established news outlets fill the gap when a company no longer publishes, which is the case with Neato, or when only an outside party has reported a fact; the record then says so.
Dates
Every record carries the date its sources were last read, and its notes link to each source.
Describing, not scripting
Records explain what each device needs and how pairing works. They do not reproduce button sequences or screen-by-screen instructions, which shift with each app update; every maker’s app is the final word on what its screens show.
Names
Maker, product and app names appear only to identify the devices described, and no more often than clarity needs.
Corrections
Confirmed mistakes are put right promptly and the record’s checked date is refreshed. Corrections can be sent to Info@vacuumcleanerinfo.com.
Advertising
Search advertising may be used to bring readers to the site. No advertiser, whether a maker or anyone else, has a say in what the records contain.
